The commodity-based cluster has changed the HPTC landscape in a significant way. Indeed, clusters have had a disruptive influence on many sectors of the IT market in addition to HPTC. However, a closer look reveals that, in reality, the delivery of some of the "cheaper" promise is achieved by shifting certain costs from the traditional HPTC vendor to the customer.
